The Mid Western Artifact Society is a Metal Detecting club in the Kansas City, KS area. We are a member of the Federation of Metal Detector and Archaeological  Clubs Inc.  ( FMDAC)  and have been meeting since 1976. We are dedicated to preserving the hobby of Metal Detecting.

When needed we work with the Kansas City Metro Squad to help them recover metallic evidence.  When they call our Police Hunt Coordinator he makes the calls to our club volunteers.

We meet on the third Sunday each month. Inside meetings are held Nov-Mar, outside meetings are held at hunt sites Apr-Oct. Our annual hunt is held in Sept. If you would like to attend one of our meetings, please contact our president, Dan Spielbusch.
