I'm on fire.

« on: February 13, 2009, 08:42:14 PM »

Well I was going to wait and just bring it sunday to show off but here is the loot I found at the site yesterday and tonight.
-My oldest coin and first for its type
     1857 FLYING EAGLE one cent
-My oldest IH 1860 pointed
-a dragoon cuff button
-a general service button
-civilian buttons
-a toe plate
-a three ringer bullet that has been extracted from the rear,
meaning it looks like it got put in backwards and then extracted with a screw rod.

The general service button is a middle size
bigger then cuff size but smaller than coat size.......
The key and the lock were a neat find, I found them about 20' away from each other.
There is so much more stuff out at this site i could be there for months.
I have been mostly searching in disc. mode and the larger iron is able to be detected still.

The flying eagle is a great find, I wish I would have found mine detecting but an ebay flying eagle (I actually have 3 of them now) is still pretty nice.
