No actually I was using a Tesoro Silver uMax. Awhile back I was looking for a nice light simple detector to use in tot lots and a guy from Pratt said he had a Silver uMax for $150. I told him I was interested and he showed up Saturday and I bought it. This was my very first hunt with the detector and I probably paid for it. LOL.

I got my Vision today and was hoping to get out with it tonight but now its raining. Oh well, I can't wait to give the Vision a try.

I hunt a lot of playgrounds and I can count on one hand the gold items I have found.  Congrats on a great day.    Hugh

I'm in a very prime location for the gold goodies. Dodge city has 2 packing plants which, needless to say, attracts a lot of immigrants. Having so many immigrants we have a lot of schools. We have 12 schools in a town with a population of roughly 28,000 people. Evey school and every park has a tot lot. Also the immigrants seem to use their bling as a sign of success. I see grade school kids wearing a lot of the yellow shiny stuff. I've even seen toddlers wearing a good chunk of gold.

Gold-bearing toddlers, huh?  Where do you go to become an immigrant?     Nice finds!  5 gold in 1 day, pretty neat!

Well I wish that was the case, but I have two buddies I hunt with and I've met several who say they have been hunting in dodge for years. Kind of weird to meet people who say they've been hunting in dodge for 20 years and I've never seen any of them. They must hunt different places than I do.

I took the new V3 tot lotting yesterday and this thing rocks for tot lots. I could get very close to the metal equipment, even using the stock 2D coil, and it is very sensitive to small stuff. Found this 2.6g 14k pendent under a metal walkway that joins play equipment. I'm hoping to get out again today before the rain and snow comes in Sunday.
