I am SOOOO bored out of mind being stuck here in the house because of all this snow and cold.  So I decided to have a little contest of my own.  Here is some stuff I found last year.  Some people might actually consider these pretty good finds, though they appear to be random junk.  Whoever correctly ID’s them first gets a rare 1940’s something Mercury Dime in the mail!  Just post your answers in reply to this post and whoever correctly ID’s the three rusted junk items first will receive one randomly picked Mercury dime dug by yours truly at some point over the last 25 or so years!  I make no guarantee as to the value of the Merc, though I do guarantee it to be a genuine relic from someone’s yard, a park, a fairground, military base, or parking strip?Huh?    Anyway….Good luck and I hope that the snow and cold goes away VERY soon.

PS…..as for the time travel thing……The picture of the button is great seal button (circa 1902).  I found this dead in the middle of a civil war skirmish area, along with some MUCH older stuff.  The strange thing is that I have seen this before when I live in Kentucky and hunted there.  We used to laugh about it and say it was “time travelers”.   Its an odd feeling to dig a button next to a three ringer in the middle of an 80 acre field and find that the button is NOT an “eagle”.

the one on the right is a sabre hook the left looks like a part to a belt and the last thing looks like a stopper to a powder horn type deal

Just to make myself look stupid I am going to make some wild guesses.

Left: Parts from a rifle sling.
Right:  I agree with Skylar on the saber hook.
Bottom: Off of a rifle push rod.

Interesting contest Lieutenant !  Thanks for putting it up.

MY guess on the left item is off a horse bridle. upper right is a knapsack hook. lower right is off a cartridge box(pouch) that the latch snaps on.
Good contest it got the gray matter working.

Ohhh lets see here. On the left is a strap buckle. On the right is a nap sack hook and the round knobby thing is possibly the "catch" to a cartridge pouch.
